Royal Geographical Society (with IBG): the heart of geography
Children's photographs of a sculpture trail at Hardcastle Crags, Yorkshire
Sarah G Cant (University of Plymouth) and Nina J Morris (University of Edinburgh)

In July 2004, we organised two free-of-charge half-day photography workshops during the Hebden Bridge Sculpture Trail. Participants were provided with a single-use camera, notebook and pencil, and were asked to record their experiences whilst walking the trail; participants were encouraged to photograph anything that interested them, and to provide a title/caption for each photograph. Thirteen children aged between two and ten took part, all accompanied by adults. The photographs on display explore emotional, playful and thoughtful responses to the sculptures and environment, and a day out with family and friends.
